We believe caring for a person goes beyond traditional home care, which is why at Libra Care Services we focus on delivering a holistic care service in the New Forest and East Dorset, including Wimborne, Verwood, St Leonard’s, Ferndown, Ringwood and the surrounding areas to support your or your loved one in every aspect of their life.

And when we say every aspect, we mean it. We’ve all heard horror stories of rogue tradesmen taking advantage of vulnerable people, which is why we work with a list of professional tradesmen to help you or your loved one keep the home in tip-top shape, including gardening, window cleaning, plumbing, decorating and more.

We also believe that people should never stop living their best life, and that means actively practising self-care. We’ll help you or your loved one feel safe, happy and look their best too.

Finally, if you’re struggling to get your head around the administration side of caring for someone we can connect you with financial and legal professionals to advise you on wealth management, wills and how to get power of attorney. We can also point you in the right direction to secure any grants or benefits you may be entitled to, and liaise with occupational health professionals to get mobility aids and personal alarms to help you live safely at home.

Our Process

Arranging home care in the New Forest and the surrounding areas doesn’t have to be complex.

We divide care into three simple steps:

Step 1

Arrange a free chat with one of our team to discuss you or your loved one’s needs.

We want to get to know you to understand, most importantly your care needs, but also your hobbies, interests and what type of life you want to lead.

Group 107

Step 2

When we’ve agreed a care and payment plan, we’ll start visiting you or your loved one as often as you need us.

We spend a minimum of an hour with our clients every visit to make sure they’re safe, happy, comfortable and their daily requirements are met. Most importantly, we take time to sit and talk to you.

Our plans are flexible, so if you or your loved one’s needs or wishes change, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

Step 3

Even when we’re not with our clients, we’re thinking about them.

If you or your loved one needs an extra service, such as a handyman, electrician, beautician, or hairdresser, let us know and we’ll get in touch with one of our hand-picked providers or liaise with your preferred professional to arrange a visit.

If you’d like us to be there when they pop round, we’ll be there.

We also work with trusted professionals who can help you navigate the paperwork and formalities that come with providing care for someone.

Melissa's Story

With a background in business and finance, Melissa enjoyed helping clients across all industries, but the care sector found a special place in her heart. When on furlough during the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered to provide companionship and support to vulnerable people in the local community, and when a friend reached out for help caring for a loved one with dementia, Melissa realised she could use her skills to make a real difference to someone’s life.

With her insight into the care industry and knowledge of business, Melissa saw that what people really needed was joined-up care and home maintenance services from an agency they could trust.

She launched Libra Care Services to give clients the help they need to live comfortably and independently in their homes for as long as possible, so they’re free to enjoy spending time with their loved ones without worrying about everyday tasks.
